Hello from Canada – Day 7!
Can’t believe we only have one more full day until the end of our vacation.
Unfortunately for me, it wasn’t the greatest day, healthwise. At around 2:00AM, I woke up because of my asthma. I suffered through the symptoms all day.
At 7:30AM, we went to the Sea to Sky Gondola. The family bought tickets to ride gondolas up to the top of the mountain. I elected to stay at the cafe and remain planted on terra firma. I didn’t mind, though. It was peaceful and the view was amazing, despite the highway and gravel parking lot being nearby. I was able to get a lot of reading and writing done at the cafe. I was even able to take a nap in the rental van since I was super fatigued from the asthma episode earlier this morning.
After the gondolas, we went to Olympic Village at Whistler, home of the 2010 Winter Olympics. We had lunch at a restaurant called El Furniture Warehouse (and no, we didn’t eat furniture). After a filling meal, we walked around the Village, took pictures, and did some shopping.
On the way home, we were caught in a highway closure. There was a collision on our way back and we were stuck on traffic for about 45 minutes.
Now we’re home. Kuya Stan’s parents called us up to their living room and we planned for Yen and Noy’s dad’s birthday. So, tomorrow night, we celebrate Uncle Boboy’s birthday and a “see you later” dinner before we head home Saturday morning.
But shopping still needs to be done in the morning, so it’s time to rest up for the last full day in Vancouver.
